Body

A magnifying glass the size of a ping-pong table, a toad, and tropical fish.

I pass by on a bus.
This is the village at the entrance to the countryside.
A stream flows to the left, and a road follows the bank to the right.
A bus passes by.

To the right are rice paddies.
It's just like my hometown.
The rice paddies haven't been planted yet.
It's probably spring or early summer. It feels like a holiday season around that time.

From inside the bus, I look at the rice paddies to the right.
The road curves, forming a quarter circle.
A large magnifying glass is installed in a nearby rice paddies.

There's a large magnifying glass perched on a ping-pong table.
"Look at that. What kind of magnifying glass is that?" someone says.
"It's all for show. Is it some kind of village theme or symbol?"
Come to think of it. The magnifying glass over there is our rice paddies.

It's a holiday these days, and the village installed it in preparation for the holiday. But now, it's a little late to install.
I recognize that this rice paddy area next to mine is my friend's rice paddy.
I know it in my heart.
Oh, our rice paddy wasn't there, but there's one here at the village entrance?
I think to myself.

I find myself approaching the magnifying glass.
The bright light is focused and concentrated.
The collected light is focused under the ping-pong table.
I still don't know what's happening there.

By the way, as I approach our rice paddy, I see clear water pooling between the rice paddy embankments.
It's a very clear, clean spring.
A toad is sitting in it. And there are three or five fish nearby.
The fish are round.

Looking at another spring nearby, I see orange fish with tails like skirts, raised in fish tanks.
A woman is watching them from the side.
I say to her,
"These look like ornamental fish, don't they? Someone must have released them from their tanks and placed them here."
